Adil Khan represents businesses in complex commercial litigation and defends them in class actions.

He minimizes their legal and financial exposure, protects their business reputations, interests and assets, counsels them on risk mitigation and compliance efforts, and resolves disputes through litigation and suitable settlement strategies.

Adil represents businesses across industries, including e-commerce, retail, food service, financial services and automotive. He advises on and defends clients in cases involving contract disputes, false advertising theories, unfair pricing and trade practices claims, and product liability and consumer protection issues under California and federal law.

With a deep understanding of his clients’ industries, business models and competitive environments, Adil structures legal strategies that protect their operational interests and deliver commercially sensible results. He integrates litigation skill with commercial insight and guides clients through all phases of litigation, from inception to trial, in both state and federal courts. Working closely with his clients, Adil anticipates risks, resolves disputes efficiently and safeguards their long-term business interests.

  • Settled putative class action alleging false advertising about the country of origin and quality of high-end haircutting shears brought against leading brand. Plaintiff’s counsel reached out for an individual settlement after seeing defendant’s motions for summary adjudication and to preclude class certification, class member declarations, and Adil’s neutralization of plaintiff’s expert at deposition.
  • Obtained order striking nationwide class allegations and dismissal of entire case with prejudice in matter alleging false advertising and breach of implied warranty against vehicle manufacturer.
  • Settled putative class action alleging false advertising based on “hidden fee” theory against e-commerce clothing company. Secured settlement on individual basis.
  • Defended national food chain in multiple false advertising class actions asserting claims based on “no MSG” marketing and “hidden” fees for online orders.
  • Settled putative class action alleging false advertising and breach of warranty claims against manufacturer of nutritional supplements.
  • Representation of modular fabrication company in dispute with property developer.
  • Settled claims against group of automobile dealerships based on allegations that putative class members received unsolicited prerecorded marketing messages.
  • Obtained summary judgment for commercial lender in lawsuit alleging fraudulent lending scheme, and successfully defended summary judgment ruling on appeal.
  • Represented securities brokerage company in FINRA arbitration asserting claims of breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Representation of credit card processing company in various disputes with former executives and employees based on claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, theft, and misappropriation of trade secrets.
