Joshua L. Grant

Joshua Grant is an Associate in Vedder’s Chicago office and is member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group.

Joshua has experience in intellectual property litigation, and IP prosecution, enforcement, and management.  Joshua works with clients to protect and strengthen their innovations and brand assets while also identifying opportunities for growth.  As part of his practice, Joshua manages global patent and trademark portfolios across all industries and guides clients through all stages of the intellectual property prosecution process, including clearance, preparation, prosecution, maintenance, and protection of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.  He has drafted patent applications covering a wide variety of technologies, including mechanical devices, consumer goods, and software.

In addition, Joshua provides clients with solutions to complex issues such as the ownership and protection of intellectual property assets arising from transactional issues, including licenses as well as in the context of mergers and acquisitions.  Joshua represents clients through all phases of intellectual property litigation including claims relating to patents, trademarks, trade dress, copyrights, trade secrets, false advertising, and unfair competition.  He also has experience handling ex parte appeals, trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and domain name proceedings under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).

Drawing on his experience in intellectual property prosecution and litigation, Joshua brings a strategic and solution-oriented approach to his practice. He focuses on developing business-aligned strategies that enable clients to safeguard and maximize the value of their creative and technological assets.
