Katherine Devlin is a member of the Government Investigations & White Collar Defense group.
She regularly represents individuals and corporations in high-stakes matters involving the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Securities and Exchange Commission, and other governmental agencies. This representation includes guiding clients through all stages of an investigation, indictment, and trial. Katherine’s practice also entails conducting internal corporate investigations and related strategic counsel on a number of complex issues.
Katherine has extensive trial experience. She has tried numerous state and federal jury trials, defending clients on a variety of criminal charges, including health care fraud, Anti-Kickback allegations, conspiracy, and others.
In addition to her legal practice, Katherine serves on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. She demonstrates a commitment to service by regularly working on a variety of pro bono matters.
Experience
- Represented a healthcare executive accused of conspiracy to violate the Anti-Kickback Statute in multi-week federal jury trial
- Successfully obtained a below-Guidelines sentence for executive in the health care field charged with federal health care violations
- Conducted internal investigation on behalf of a corporation regarding allegations of misappropriation of funds by an employee
- Defended a physician charged with health care fraud and conspiracy involving a hospice facility in a multi-week, complex federal jury trial
- Successfully negotiated a corporate plea agreement in lieu of individual federal charges against executives of the corporation
- Routinely defend individuals and corporations against a variety of federal crimes, including health care fraud, anti-kickback violations, securities fraud, honest services fraud, tax fraud, wire fraud, and others
