Sudip K. Mitra

Sudip Mitra is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group.

He advises clients on intellectual property strategy, protection, and enforcement, with experience across both prosecution and litigation. Sudip works with technologies spanning mechanical devices, electrical systems, computer networks, artificial intelligence, and business methods, helping clients safeguard innovation and align IP assets with their business objectives.

He counsels on patentability, freedom-to-operate, licensing, and IP-related transactions, including due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and drafting assignments, security agreements, and licensing arrangements. Sudip also represents clients in complex disputes before the U.S. District Court, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and the International Trade Commission (ITC).

Before practicing law, Sudip held leadership roles in the aerospace and defense industries, including with Boeing and General Electric, where he helped develop advanced electrical and embedded systems for next-generation aircraft and military technologies. This hands-on engineering and management experience gives him unique insight into the innovation process, from concept to commercialization.
